MEET
ARIANE

I've never really known how to skim the surface of life. Whatever reaches me,
reaches me deeply.

A room can speak to me before anyone in it does. I can feel when something has shifted, even when I can't explain what changed. A song can move something through my whole body. Beauty can stop me in my tracks.

Nature has always felt like home to me.

There is something about being close to the earth that brings me right back into myself. The warmth of the sun on my skin. The smell of the earth after rain. Wind against my bare shoulders. I can stop everything just to watch the river move or notice beautiful flowers on the side of the road.. when the golden sun peaks through the window and reaches my kitchen countertop... or even the sunset, clouds looks like they are on fire.. that reaches me everytime!

Nature makes sense to me because she isn't perfect. She's wild. She grows around things. Through things. She changes constantly. She dies back. She begins again. She doesn't ask permission to take the shape that is hers.

There is something about that I understand deeply.

I don't have a perfectly packaged way of looking at life. I feel my way through most of it.

I notice what isn't being said. The feeling behind someone's words. The shift in a room. The way my body responds before my mind has caught up.

I used to question a lot of that.

Now, I trust it.

And maybe that's part of why I've never been very good at following.

If everyone is going one way, there's usually something in me wondering what's hiding in the other direction.

Not because I need to be different.

I just need the way I live to feel like my own.

My own way of seeing. My own way of creating. My own way of moving through this life.

I love the imperfect.

The crooked flower. The messy altar after a beautiful ceremony. Mud on bare feet. Loud laughter. Tears that weren't expected. Something made by hand. People who aren't afraid to be a little strange.

I love what is raw and alive and difficult to contain.

Maybe because for a long time, being fully myself was something I had to work at.

Now I embrace her. Unapologetically.

The sensitive one. The expressive one. The passionate one. the one who feels everything. The one with big visions and sometimes wild ideas. The one who changes her mind when something no longer feels true.

I want what I create to have feeling in it.
I don't want it overly polished or perfected.

Give me something touched by hands. A table still messy from a night spent together. Dirt under fingernails after working in the earth. Crying and laughing almost at the same time. Being completely lost in the moment. A room that still carries the feeling of everyone who was just there.

Give me what is real

A little earth still on it. A little wildness left in it. Something that reminds me I'm alive.

Maybe that's the thread underneath everything I create.
